The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Police Command, has commenced an operational tour of all Area Commands across the state as part of sustained efforts to strengthen security and improve policing.
The tour, which began on Monday, has seen the 49th Commissioner of Police engage with key stakeholders, including traditional rulers, community leaders, and representatives of various interest groups across the state.
According to the Command, the engagements have provided an opportunity for the police chief to receive firsthand information on the prevailing security situation, understand stakeholders’ concerns, and assess existing measures aimed at preventing security breaches. The discussions also focused on strengthening collaborative efforts to protect lives and property.
As part of the tour, the Commissioner held strategic meetings with commanders of sister security and partner agencies to enhance inter-agency cooperation, boost operational morale, and reinforce existing collaboration among organisations with complementary security responsibilities.
The police boss also met with members of local vigilante groups and other community-based security volunteers, commending their contributions to grassroots security. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to community policing and sustained collaboration with all stakeholders in ensuring the safety and security of residents across Oyo
