Oyo Police  Assures Residents Of Safety As Olubadan Passes On

-

The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, CP Johnson Oluwole Adenola, PSC, extends heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Oyo State Police Command to the Olubadan-in-Council and the people of Oyo State on the passing of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin Ige Olakulehin I, who transitioned to the afterlife at the age of 90 on Monday, July 7, 2025.

Oba Olakulehin was a revered First-Class leader whose active involvement and unwavering support in combating criminal activities significantly contributed to the peace and security of Ibadan and Oyo State.

His legacy of dedication to maintaining a tranquil environment will be deeply missed.

In light of this unfortunate event, the Oyo State Police Command reassures the public that comprehensive security measures have been put in place to ensure a seamless transition process. These measures include the strategic deployment of the Command’s intelligence and operational resources, particularly around the Olubadan palace, enhanced visibility policing, convoy patrols in collaboration with sister agencies, and rigorous surveillance operations, including intelligence-led stop-and-search initiatives throughout the metropolitan area and beyond.

The Commissioner urges all citizens to remain law-abiding and continue their daily activities without fear of harassment or molestation.

He also calls on parents and influential figures in religious, socio-political, and other spheres to guide their children, wards, and protégés against any actions that could disturb public peace, as violators will face stringent consequences.
