Parental Failure: How Lack of Discipline is Creating a Generation of Lost Souls

-

Delivered by Mr. Bamimore Mutiu Adesola, Vice Principal of Obakilani Olarinre Ilufemiloye Secondary School, Sango Saki, on August 5, 2025.
The world has changed, not because evil has become more powerful, but because parents have become weaker. Children no longer have boundaries, fear, respect, or discipline, resulting in a generation that mocks God, worships vanity, and embraces sin with pride.
*Key Issues:*
– *Lack of Discipline*: Children without discipline become adults without self-control, leading to addiction, laziness, and destructive behaviours.
– *Fall of Family Values*: The decline of family values has led to moral decay, with children learning from social media instead of at home.
– *Overindulgent Parenting*: Spoiling children can ruin them, making them lazy and entitled.
– *Friendship over Leadership*: Parents prioritising friendship over leadership create a generation of weak individuals who can’t handle rejection or failure.
– *Pleasure over Responsibility*: The new generation prioritises pleasure but rejects responsibility, leading to broken families and mental instability.
– *Consequences of Lack of Discipline*: Without discipline, children lose their future, succumbing to addiction, poor self-respect, and mental health issues.
The speech emphasises the importance of parental discipline and responsibility in shaping the next generation. By prioritising leadership and values, parents can help their children develop self-control, respect, and a strong sense of direction.
