The Ogun State Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) has conducted a youth sensitisation programme at the Royal Ambassador Ogun Baptist Conference, Ephphatha 2026, engaging hundreds of teenagers and young adults on the dangers of cultism and other social vices.
The outreach, held in line with the vision of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and under the leadership of the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, was led by the POCACOV State Coordinator, ASP Oluborode Opeyemi.
During the interactive sessions, the POCACOV team addressed the long-term dangers of cultism, gang violence, substance abuse, cybercrime and related vices, warning participants of how such activities can destroy promising futures, compromise personal safety, and disrupt peace in schools and communities.
Officers encouraged the young attendees to embrace self-discipline, positive peer influence and personal accountability, describing strong character and early ethical leadership as the most effective safeguards against criminal influence. Participants were also urged to see themselves as stakeholders in building safer communities.
The programme culminated in a unanimous pledge by all attendees to reject cultism, drug abuse, cybercrime and other vices, and to serve as anti-vice ambassadors within their schools and communities.
POCACOV Ogun State reaffirmed its continued commitment to community policing and youth-focused preventive outreach across the state.
