The Enugu State Police Command has recorded further operational successes following swift responses to reports of armed robbery and vehicle snatching within and outside the state, leading to the arrest of one male suspect and the recovery of two Toyota vehicles.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, the first operation occurred in the early hours of December 12, 2025, when operatives attached to the Commissioner of Police’s Monitoring Unit (CMU) and the Crack Tactical Squad responded to security information received through the Command’s Control Room.
Ndukwe said the report concerned an alleged armed robbery and the snatching of a Toyota Camry 2.4L vehicle along Aria Road, Enugu. “After intense trailing, the criminal elements abandoned the vehicle, which was subsequently recovered, and fled into the surrounding forest,” he stated, adding that a manhunt for the fleeing suspects is ongoing.
In a related development, operatives of the Command’s Crack Tactical Squad, working in synergy with personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), arrested a male suspect on December 11, 2025, at about 3:30 p.m., and recovered an ash-coloured Toyota Camry 2.4L vehicle.
According to the police spokesperson, preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle had earlier been reported stolen from where it was parked in Kubwa, Abuja, in July 2025. He said the owner later confirmed ownership of the vehicle upon being contacted.
Ndukwe added that the suspect, whose name was withheld, alongside the recovered vehicle, has been transferred to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Abuja, for further and conclusive investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, commended the collaborative efforts that led to the operational successes. He reassured the public of the Command’s unwavering commitment to combating crime and urged residents to continue cooperating with the police by promptly reporting suspicious activities.
