The Zamfara State Police Command has rescued a 75 years old man, Mohammadu Sheshi, after he had spent close to 60 days in kidnappers’ den.
Securitynewsalert.com gathered that on 2nd December 2022, the Zamfara State Police Command rescued Sheshi, a native of Enagi in Edati Local Government Area of Niger State.
The Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), a Superintendent of Police (SP), Mohammed Shehu stated that the rescue operation was conducted following the receipt of the intelligence report regarding the victim’s abduction.
Mohammed added: “During debriefing, the victim informed the Police that he was abducted in early October 2022 by a large number of bandits who blocked Birnin Gwari – Kaduna road and took others into the bush somewhere in Dansadau axis of Zamfara State. He said that he spent two months in captivity. The victim while at the Police Command Headquarters, Gusau was medically checked at the Police clinic facility and later reunited with his family. The Commissioner of Police, Kolo Yusuf, congratulated the rescued victim for regaining his freedom, and promised that the Police would continue to protect the lives and property of the citizens.”
