The passengers were kidnapped in a mass transit bus while travelling from Delta State to Lagos State.

The victims were kidnapped by six suspected herdsmen who emerged from the bush with AK47 rifles and Pump-Action guns shooting sporadically at vehicles and finally kidnapped 20 persons into the bush (male and female).

The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), a Superintendent of Police, Chidi Nwabuzor, said: “The operatives of Safer High Way Edo South alongside another team of Police officers covering the long stretch of the expressway, moved to the direction of the gunshot, engaged the kidnappers and rescued 17 persons while three others were taken away into the bush.
