Police rescue of four kidnapped victims

On the 15th of January 2023, at about 10:30 am, the command succeeded in raiding criminal hideouts in Hunguma and Gozaki villages and rescued the four victims.

The victims have been identified as  Sa’idu Alhaji Iliya, 15, of Nasarawan Dankali village, Mahuta ward, Kafur LGA, Yusuf Umar, 31 and Abdullahi Bello, 35, both of Bauchi state.

One of the victims, Abdullahi Bello, sustained a gunshot wound and was rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

Many of the terrorists were feared dead or fatally injured during the rescue operation.

A team of policemen is still combing the area with a view of arresting the wounded terrorists and/or recovering their dead bodies.

Similarly, in another development, on 16th of January 2023, at about 8:am, the command, in collaboration with NSCDC and Vigilante group, raided a criminal hideout at Tamarke village, Bakori LGA, and rescued one Abdulsalam Mai Washi, 40 of Gidan Chirai village, Mahuta ward, Kafur LGA.

The victim was kidnapped in his residence by terrorists wielding AK-47 rifles on the 13th of January 2023, at about 1:am and demanded a ransom of N8m from his family. But based on credible intelligence, the victim was rescued unharmed.   Effort is on with a view to arresting the culprits as the investigation is ongoing.
