The latest information yesterday is that members of the Police Killer Squad in Anambra State have been released.

The squad members were released less than 24 hours after they were arrested and a panel was set up by the Inspector General of Police to look into the allegations against them.

It will be recalled that the Panel was given two weeks to investigate. But in less than 24 hours, the game appears to be over.

According to Gistloverblog, the leader of the team, CSP Patrick Chukwuemeka Agbaze, after he and his members were released yesterday, went to celebrate with his men, with sporadic gunshots shot into the air.

Patrick was heard to have repeatedly mentioned, “Power Pass Power.”

The news of the squad release has sent shocked waves down the spines of Nigerians, including those overseas.

The supposed killer squad, Patrick Chukwuemeka Agbaze, a Chief Superintendent of Police, Princess Nwode, a Superintendent of Police, Arthur Eze, and Inspector Harrison Akama, were accused of extrajudicial killings of suspects and detainees in their custody.

Popular actor and producer Ugezu Ugezu, while demanding justice, asked Governor Charles Soludo thus: “Let there be no sacred cows.”

He said that he hoped that the squad members had not been released with the avalanche of evidence.

When securitynewsalert.com asked the Force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, to confirm that the officers had been released, he said that he was not aware.

He promised to find out and get back to our reporter.
