The Nigeria Police Force has launched an investigation into the activities of one Inspector Solomon Peter, with AP/No. 268505, serving in Ogun State Police Command, after a suspected thief, mentioned him as one of their gang members.
Securitynewsalert.com heard that members of a Police team investigating the disappearance of N7million worth of iron rod, from a construction site, were shocked speechless when one of those arrested for the theft, fingered Peter as part of their gang.
Ironically, Peter was among the Police Team posted to the construction site in Ogun State to stop thieves from invading the premises to steal building items. Peter, rather than wading off criminals, becomes implicated in the theft of the same items he was supposed to watch over.
A Police source told Securitynewsalert.com, “Inspector Solomon was posted to Traco Construction Limited, Oru – Ijebu, an approved beat. He was defaulted for discreditable conduct, in connection with a criminal conspiracy, involving stealing of Mesto Jaw Plate and iron metals valued at about N7million belonging to Traco Construction Limited.
“The theft occurred within the inspector’s assigned beat, on the company’s premises on the 27th March 2025, at about 11:10 pm, executed by some suspected hoodlums operating a bus.
“The gang was led by Solomon Aper, a driver employed by the company. Following the arrest of the gang leader, Inspector Solomon Peter was implicated as an accomplice in the theft.
“It was based on clear evidence provided by the principal suspect and civilian security personnel from the company. Meanwhile, some of the stolen items have been recovered and the case is under investigation at the Oru-Ijebu Division. The erring inspector is facing an orderly room trial.”
