PSC Announces New Recruitment Plan to Combat Corruption, Nepotism

-

After a successful meeting in Abuja yesterday with representatives from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, the Police Service Commission announced a new plan to decentralise its 2025 recruitment process.

To improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability, the commission will now allow recruitment desk officers from each state to play a key role in the exercise. The newly acquired recruitment portal, which will be used for both commission staff and police officer recruitment, is ready to be deployed for this purpose.

The portal will also give key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Police Affairs, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Federal Character Commission, access to the process to ensure inclusiveness and help prevent corruption and nepotism.

Commission Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd) mni, stated that the commission is pleased to partner with the state desk officers, calling them “immediate beneficiaries of Police recruitment.” He emphasised that this collaboration will protect the interests of all parties and help give the nation a police force it can be proud of.

The commission advises the public to note that all future police recruitment will be conducted through this new portal, with significant involvement from state officers. The portal is expected to open once the 2025 recruitment exercise begins.
