12th Regular Course: PSC Disclaims Nigeria Police Academy Admission Announcement

-

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has firmly denounced a public announcement issued by the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, regarding admission into its 12th Regular Course Degree Programmes for 2025.

The PSC asserts that the advertisement violates established procedures and undermines its constitutionally backed role in police recruitment, as reaffirmed by both the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.

Key concerns highlighted include: Lack of stakeholder consultation, notably with the Ministry of Police Affairs, the Federal Character Commission, and the Nigeria Police Force, Unauthorised fees of ₦6,000, despite the process being mandated to remain free and Centralised applicant screening, which PSC warns could lead to stress, financial burden, and corruption.

PSC emphasises its commitment to transparency and best practices aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Commission urges the public to disregard the announcement, declaring it null and void.
