Remains of three inspectors, other policemen killed by bandits recovered

The Katsina State Police Command has retrieved the bodies of five policemen killed by bandits in the state.1 2 3 4 5

The deceased policemen were killed, and their rifles were taken by their killers believed to be bandits.

Among the murdered policemen were three inspectors, a corporal, and a constable. The bodies of the policemen have been deposited at the general hospital mortuary Kankara.

The slain policemen have been identified as AP/ NO.  272783 Inspector Abubakar Ismail with type 06 rifle No. 18264, AP/ NO. 284171 Inspector Nuhu Abubakar WITH type 06 rifle No. O610108, AP/NO. 268177 Inspector Adamu Musa with AK47 rifle No. AB 352910, F/NO. 510937 Corporal Iliyasu Abdullahi with AK47 rifle No. 17997 and F/NO 522486 constable Yahaya Suleman with Pump Action No. 422248.

Abdullahi was said to be attached to Mobile Police Force 9 and was on special duty.

A police source said: “The policemen were killed by terrorists. CPL Iliyasu Abdullahi attached Mopol nine and was on special duty. The scene of the incident was visited and after a thorough search of the area, four more corpses of the mobile policemen from 9 PMF were recovered at the surrounding bushes of the scene, and their rifles were carted away as follows; AP/ No.  272783 Inspector Abubakar Ismail with type 06 rifle No. 18264, AP/ No. 284171 Inspector Nuhu Abubakar with type 06 rifle No 0610108, AP/No. 268177 Inspector Adamu Musa with AK47 rifle No. AB 352910, F/No. 510937 corporal Iliyasu Abdullahi with AK47 rifle No. 17997 and F/No 522486 Police constable Yahaya Suleman with Pump Action No.  422248.  All the corpses have been evacuated and deposited at the general hospital mortuary Kankara. The case has been incidented and the investigation on going with a view to arresting the culprits. Meanwhile, patrol has been intensified at the area to prevent further attack.”
