Rivers CP Hosts GOC 6 Garrison Division, Pledges To Strengthen Ties

-

The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Police Command, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, played host to Brigadier-General A. A Bello, General Officer Commanding 6 Garrison Division/Sector 3 Joint Task Force (JTF), South-South Operations Delta Safe, at the Police State Headquarters in Port-Harcourt on October 8, 2025.

This visit marked a significant step in fortifying the working ties between the Police and the Nigerian Army in Rivers State.

Brigadier-General Bello expressed his deepest gratitude for the reception and noted that his visit aimed to inform the CP of his assumption of duty as the new helmsman of the Division.

The GOC promised to build on the existing legacies of his predecessor and boost the working synergy between the two sister security agencies in the State.

CP Adepoju, in his brief remarks, thanked the GOC and his entourage for finding time to visit him and described it as very symbolic, acknowledging the Nigerian Army’s contributions to restoring peace in the State and country at large.

The visit, he said, was a broader strategic initiative to foster and solidify the existing synergy between the Police Force and the Nigerian Army.

The good working relationship between the two agencies is crucial in protecting government infrastructures and critical assets.

The relationship will extend beyond official engagements, ensuring a harmonious and peaceful environment in Rivers State.

The highlight of the visit was the exchange of plaques between the two helmsmen, symbolising the strengthened partnership between the two agencies. This gesture underscores the commitment of both agencies to work together in combating crime and maintaining peace in Rivers State.
