Robbery suspect held after shooting resident to death

The Special arm of Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, (So-Safe Corps), has arrested a robbery suspect who shot and killed one person. At the same time, some victims sustained degree of injuries in Arepo/Fadunsi, Ijoko in Ifo Local Government Area.

According to a press release issued from the Office of the State Commander, Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo through the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, at about 8:PM on 11th December 2022, patrol team of Arepo Division of the Corps under Ifo 2 Area Command headed by ACC Ajayi Amos arrested a middle-aged man, Mr Joseph Michael.

It was gathered that Michael was arrested for allegedly shooting one Mr. Kudus popularly called ‘Alfa’ dead while two victims of the brutal attack are receiving treatment in the hospital.

Ganzallo said that the So-Safe Corps personnel gave the culprit a hot chase after allegedly committing the crime and he was captured alive while the rest of the gang members escaped on three motorcycles.

Ganzallo made it known that the Corps is making an effort to get arrested the gang members who escaped with the gun used to perpetrate the crime.  Ganzallo stressed that the apprehended robbery suspect had been transferred to the Nigeria Police Lemode Divisional Police Headquarter for further investigation and prosecution.
