Security agent receives verbal attack for assaulting lady heading to school

Ipokia Local Government Youth Forum (IPYF) has condemned the assault on a lady by a security agent belonging to the Nigeria Immigration Service.

A statement signed by the General Secretary of the group, Adeyemi Sulaimon Olusegun, stated that the group’s attention was drawn to a trending video, where a lady accused a security agent who was practically holding a stick of beating her and battering her face.

Olusegun said: “The Lady who claimed to be on her way to school has not yet been identified but we are worried by her claims.

“Over the years, the youth of the Local Government has fought against Officers’ brutality and unprofessional use of firearm, it is therefore disheartening that this is happening again.

“We call on the Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service, Idiroko Command; to set up an investigation on this matter and bring to book the earring officer. We believe this will serve as a warning to another officer who is fond of brutalising innocent citizens unnecessarily.

“We at this moment give a 48-hour ultimatum for this investigation to be conducted and completed, and the earring officers should be displayed public while necessary disciplinary actions follow immediately.

“Furthermore, failure to comply with this within 48 hours, we will mobilize as a group and move our headquarters to your command in protest of this unprofessional attitude of your officer.”
