The FCT Police Command has arrested a woman identified as Kosoba Duke and her maid for allegedly battering her female police orderly on 20th September 2022.
According to sources, Duke is a professor living at Area 11 in Abuja and is said to be a close friend of the Inspector General of Police’s (IGP) wife. The alleged Professor was said to have ordered her maids to beat up her Police Orderly, Woman Inspector Teju Moses, saying, “nothing will happen because the IGP’s wife is her friend.”
However, a Police Situation Report (SITREP) sighted by julianafrancisnews.com (JFNews) states: “At about 7:30 PM, a distress call was distressed at Garki Division from Compol FCT of an incident at #245 Jessy Jackson Garki Police Operatives immediately raced to the scene where it was discovered that one Kosoba Duke of Plot 245 Jessy Jackson Street was seen assaulted her Police orderly woman Inspector Teju Moses. The victim sustained a serious injury to her head and was rushed to Muhammad Buhari Hospital for medical treatment. The Said Kosoba Duke and her housemaid are currently in custody undergoing interrogation.”
It will be recalled that the IGP, Alkali Baba Usman, has warned against assaulting police personnel, especially those in uniform. Already some civilians have been arrested and prosecuted for attacking police personnel.
