Senior Police officer, Inspector killed in company of CP Imo, Army Brigade Commander

A senior police officer and a police inspector were killed today while in the company of the Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Danjuma Aboki and army Brigade Commander, Obinze Barrack.

The CP and the Army Brigade Commander, along with their men, were going on a visit to the scene of a crime, following the murder of a traditional ruler, Eze JB Ochiilor, in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area, when men, who came on a Black Toyota Venza without plate number, along with motorcycles, shot and killed the senior police officer and Inspector Nwanchor Ikechukwu.

Both deceased policemen were on the entourage of the CP and Army Brigade Commander.

According to a Situation Reporter sighted by our reporter, states: “On the 27th of November 2023, at about 12:45 am, consequent upon the murder of Eze J.B Ochiulor in Ezinihitte Mbaise Iga earlier reported, the Commissioner of Police Imo State Command, CP. Danjuma Aboki in synergy with Army Brigade Commander, Obinze Barrack embarked on the visit to the scene for an on-the-spot assessment of the incident.

“Supol Ahiazu Mbaise Division, SP Magnus Abalu and team, who came to Boek Petrol Station, Ahiara Mbaise Junction to lead the entourage to the house of the deceased traditional ruler, was attacked by gunmen, who came on a Black Toyota Venza without plate number and motorcycle, shot and killed the Supol, alongside one Inspector Nwanchor Ikechukw.

“Two rifles belonging to the deceased officers were carted away by the hoodlums. Tactical teams, Terro-Pol, Mopol Compol Imo and the Brigade Commander, with his troops are combing the whole area in search of the perpetrators of this dastardly act for possible arrest.

“The bodies of the deceased policemen have been deposited at the Federal University Teaching Hospital (FUTH) Owerri for preservation and autopsy.”
