…Police Recover Casket, Calabash Of Black Soap, Cow Horn, Charms
Detectives attached to the Special Fraud Unit, Milverton, Ikoyi, Lagos State, have arrested six suspects for business email compromises, benefit scams, credit card fraud, and money laundering.
The SFU spokesperson, a superintendent of Police, SP. Eyitayo Johnson identified the suspects as Akerele Oluwaseyi, Okobi Chukwunonso Daniel, Nicholas Tijani, Stephen Destiny, Ayomikun Akinsola and Adetayo Michael.
According to Johnson, the suspect ages range between 22 and 27.
Johnson said: “They were apprehended around AIT Road, Alagbado, Lagos, based on credible intelligence from the Unit on their alleged involvement in computer-related fraud, such as romance scams, business email compromises, benefit scams, credit card fraud, and money laundering.
“Upon their arrest, items recovered from them include a car, high-end mobile phones worth millions of Naira, and fetish materials such as a casket, a calabash of black soap, cow horn and charms.
“Further investigations have also established a nexus with other associates who are suspected of being involved in computer-related fraud. The suspects will be charged in Court as soon as the investigation is completed.”
The Commissioner of Police, Police Special Fraud Unit, CP. Godwin Ayotunde Omodeinde, admonished youths to embrace hard work, shun all manners of crime, and make integrity and dedication to work their watchword. ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ is not a sustainable way of life.
