Some Nigerian Police Officers left their comfort zones to practice and display what real Police work is all about.
These policemen, posing as interested buyers in a vehicle stolen in Lagos State, were able to lure out the prime suspect, Bethel Friday George, who stole the car in Lagos State, arrested a soldier, George Nsisong, who assisted Bethel to beat security checkpoints and also arrested a soft target who was frantically fishing for buyers for Bethel.
Bethel from Idung Udo Village in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa-Ibom was employed as a driver to one employer residing in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State. He absconded with a brand new 2024 Toyota Hilux Adventure SRS, black in colour, with no registration since three weeks ago.
Bethel thought he was home free after disappearing from Lagos State with the vehicle. He was shocked witless when his supposed buyers turned out to be police officers.
George Nsisong was arrested while in full military attire. He claimed to be a corporal in the Nigerian army attached to Operation Delta Safe OPDS in Bayelsa State.
To ensure that the fleeing Bethel was arrested and the vehicle recovered, the Police officers did not go undercover, but also travelled to different states.
Security watchers believed that the gang had been operating for years.
