Soldier Accused of Shooting Yaba College of Technology Student To Death

-

A Nigerian soldier has been accused of fatally shooting a student of Yaba College of Technology, Balogun Sultan, during a security operation in Lagos, according to SaharaReporters.

Sultan, a National Diploma II student in the institution’s distance learning programme, was reportedly on his way home after an examination when the incident occurred near the West African Examinations Council office bus stop.

“We only come to school for examinations as our course is usually online… Once we are done with the examination, we do not come to school again,” a fellow student said, describing the shock among classmates.

Another source said Sultan had boarded a vehicle from the WAEC bus stop and was heading to Lagos Island when the shooting happened, turning what was meant to be a routine trip home into tragedy. #securitynewsalert.com
