The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arraigned two children of Anambra-born billionaire businessman Lucky Adimike, alongside a female co-defendant, before an Abuja High Court over the alleged murder of their father.
The defendants Adimike Odirachukwu Anthony, Adimike Chinyere Stephany and Comfort Ajibade were arraigned before FCT High Court 13 on Monday after police concluded investigations into the killing.
According to the police, Adimike was allegedly stabbed to death at his residence in the upscale Guzape District of Abuja on May 15, 2026.
The prosecution told the court that the case came to light after a concerned family member alerted officers at the Guzape Divisional Police Headquarters when repeated attempts to reach the businessman proved unsuccessful.
Police investigators who responded to the report allegedly found the deceased lying in a pool of blood in his bedroom with multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to Karu General Hospital, where doctors confirmed his death.
“The killing prompted an intensive homicide investigation ordered by the Commissioner of Police in charge of the FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi,” the prosecution said.
Investigators initially arrested five suspects, including the deceased’s son, daughter, driver and gateman, as detectives sought to determine the circumstances surrounding the killing.
Following the conclusion of the investigation, prosecutors filed charges against Adimike Odirachukwu Anthony, Adimike Chinyere Stephany and Comfort Ajibade.
The trio was arraigned on a four-count charge bordering on alleged criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide. In addition, Adimike Chinyere Stephany and Comfort Ajibade were jointly charged with offences under the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act.
According to the prosecution, the three defendants allegedly conspired to kill the businessman and were jointly charged with conspiracy to commit culpable homicide and culpable homicide in connection with his death.
After the defendants entered their pleas, the court adjourned the matter until September 30, 2026, for further hearing and ordered that they be remanded at the Suleja Correctional Centre pending the determination of the case.
Reaffirming its commitment to justice, the FCT Police Command said it would continue to ensure that perpetrators of violent crimes are brought to justice while guaranteeing suspects a fair trial in accordance with the law.
“The FCT Police Command remains committed to bringing perpetrators of violent crimes to justice while ensuring that suspects receive a fair trial in accordance with the law,” the police stated.
