Suspects Arrested After Disappearing With Car While Testing Engine

-

On the 19th May, 2025 at about 4:30pm, a combined team of Policemen and vigilante while on routine patrol along Shanga/Dugu road, intercepted an unregistered Peugeot 206 motor vehicle, ash in colour and suspected it might have been stolen.

The vehicle is driven by one Umar Yusuf, 25,  and Dalhatu Aminu, 23, all of Birnin Kebbi town. When questioned, the suspects zoomed off.

As a result, they were pursued and arrested. During interrogation, they confessed to have deceived the owner in Birnin Kebbi, that they wanted to buy the vehicle, but on the process of testing, they made away with it.

While commending the bravery and professionalism displayed by the combined team of security personnel, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani reiterated the Command’s readiness to rid Kebbi State of all forms of crimes.

The CP also urged the Police to always be vigilant while on duty.

In the same vein, CP Bello M Sani equally advised the motor vehicle dealers/salers to be wary of some of their customers with dubious intentions during their daily business.

The case has been  transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Birnin Kebbi, for further investigation with a view to unravel their modus operandi and arrest the remaining gang members for prosecution.
