The Kano State Police Command has commended the people of Kano State for their exceptional display of peace and orderliness during the recent Takutaha Celebration.
The Command’s spokesman, a Superintendent of Police, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said that this year’s event stands out as one of the most peaceful in the State’s history, marking a significant departure from previous years marred by violence.
He stated that Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba applauded the Kano residents, community leaders, and stakeholders for their collective efforts in promoting harmony and cooperation.
He further said: “The success of this year’s celebration is a testament to the Command’s proactive strategies and collaborative approach with the community.
“The peaceful conduct of the Takutaha Celebration demonstrates the growing trust between the Police and the public. We appreciate the support and cooperation received from the people and pledge to continue working tirelessly to maintain law and order in the State.
“The Command’s commitment to community engagement and intelligence-led policing in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, have yielded positive results, as evident in the successful celebration. We recognize the invaluable contributions of the Kano State Government, other security agencies, religious leaders, community leaders, Vigilante groups, and other stakeholders in promoting peace and stability.
“As we celebrate this achievement, we reaffirm our dedication to safeguarding the lives and properties of all. Members of the public are urged to continue supporting the Police in maintaining peace and order in Kano State.”
