A disturbing case of child defilement and incest has come to light in Mafoluku Oshodi, Lagos, involving a 16-year-old boy identified as Daniel, who allegedly sexually abused his 7-year-old neighbour and engaged in incest with his 12-year-old sister.
The Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network (ACVPN) confirmed that they were alerted to the case on February 12, 2026, by one of their referral partners.
The organisation immediately intervened, meeting with the victim’s mother and grandmother to gather details.
According to the victim’s grandmother, the abuse dates to December 2025, when she noticed suspicious signs on the child and questioned her.
The girl disclosed that Daniel had lured her into his apartment with the help of his younger sister, where he allegedly assaulted both her and his sister.
The victim’s mother further recounted that on January 21, 2026, she discovered evidence of another assault while bathing her daughter.
The child revealed that she had once again been taken to Daniel’s apartment, where he repeated the act and threatened her with violence if she spoke out.
Medical examinations at a Primary Health Centre confirmed the abuse. The family reported the matter to the alleged perpetrator’s parents, but they dismissed the claims.
Reports suggest that Daniel’s mother, a medical practitioner, failed to fulfil her legal obligation as a mandated reporter.
The victim’s family also alleged ongoing bullying and intimidation from Daniel and his sister following the confrontation.
On February 11, 2026, Daniel reportedly threatened the victim’s grandfather during a dispute.
The case was officially reported at Makinde Police Station, Mafoluku Oshodi, on February 12, 2026. A medical referral was issued to the Mirabel Centre, where the victim was examined on February 13, 2026, accompanied by ACVPN officers.
Police confirmed that the suspect was arrested on February 13, 2026, and investigations are ongoing under the supervision of the Gender Unit, Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja.
