Three Police Officers Detained For Alleged Murder Of Abubakar Auwal

On the 15th of April 2025, based on the complaint of stolen rims of a trailer truck reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Jega, one Abubakar Auwal was arrested in connection with the case.

 

On 16/4/2025 at about 0600hrs, while the investigation was ongoing, the suspect collapsed in detention.

 

As a result which he was rushed to the general hospital, Jega, for treatment, but died on the same date at about 22:00 hours.

 

Given the above, foul play surrounding the circumstances of the death of Abubakar Auwal was suspected.

Hence, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani directed the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a discreet investigation, during which three Officers were found culpable and are currently detained at the SCID for further investigation and disciplinary action, while the DPO has been queried and transferred with immediate effect.
