TIPS ON THE DANGERS OF NIGHT JOURNEY

-

By Nnamdi Ikeh-Akabogu (FRSCN)

While some motorists choose to travel in the daytime, good numbers of Nigerians prefer night journeys even though we are wary of the dangers.

Below are some reasons why we must avoid night journeys:-

Vehicles may be parked on the road while broken down ones may also be left without signs to warn oncoming road users. While traveling at night you may run into these vehicles.

Some vehicles are driven with one headlight at night while many others do not have lights at all. These could lead to crashes.

Rescue services are hardly available at night. So if a crash occurs at night, rescue is always delayed, leading to high fatality rates.

We advise that you plan your journey ahead of time, and leave your house early to avoid night journeys because of the above dangers. A life lost can never be replaced.

STOP NIGHT TRIPS, IF YOU CAN, PLEASE.
