Troops Crush Terrorists In Pre-Dawn Assaults, Reassert Dominance Across North East

-

The Nigerian military has once again tightened its grip on the North East as troops of Operation HADIN KAI unleashed devastating pre-dawn offensives that left scores of terrorists neutralised, their camps dismantled, and their firepower seized.

In a meticulously coordinated dawn operation on January 28, 2026, troops of Sector 1, Operation HADIN KAI, stormed terrorist enclaves at Bula Dalo, killing more than 12 insurgents and forcing the survivors to flee in disarray. The operation yielded significant battlefield gains, including the recovery of four AK-47 rifles, a PKT anti-aircraft gun, a Rocket Propelled Gun, and a multiple grenade launcher.

The momentum continued in a follow-up strike on the Garno terrorist camp, where troops neutralised six more insurgents, destroyed their life-support structures, and recovered a large cache of PKT anti-aircraft ammunition, further crippling terrorist operational capacity in the area.

Meanwhile, in a related encounter, troops of Sector 2 at Sabon Gari repelled a coordinated ISWAP attack in the early hours of January 29. The terrorists, who deployed multiple armed drones in the assault, briefly breached a section of the defensive position before gallant troops, bolstered by timely reinforcements, decisively regained full control of the location.

Sadly, the confrontation claimed the lives of some courageous troops and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, while an excavator and a lowbed were damaged during the drone attack.

Troops are currently exploiting the area as operations intensify to deny terrorists any freedom of action.

The latest engagements underscore the Nigerian military’s resolve to sustain offensive pressure and maintain firm control across the North East theatre.
