Troops of 32 Artillery Brigade Neutralise Two Suspected Terrorists, Recover Arms in Ondo State

-

Troops of the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army have neutralised two suspected armed terrorists during a tactical operation at the Forward Operating Base in Auga Akoko, located in Akoko North East Local Government Area.

The operation, which was carried out along the Akunnu–Auga road, followed credible intelligence on the movement of suspected criminal elements within the area.

During the encounter, troops reportedly deployed superior firepower, leading to the neutralisation of two of the suspects, while others escaped with suspected gunshot wounds.

Items recovered from the scene include one AK-47 rifle with two magazines and 61 rounds of ammunition, three mobile phones, a jackknife, a torchlight, suspected illicit drugs, charms, and the sum of ₦39,000, alongside other personal effects.

The Brigade stated that the successful operation highlights the Nigerian Army’s commitment to denying criminal elements freedom of movement and ensuring the protection of lives and property across Ondo State.
