Yuletide: NSCDC Anambra Commandant Embarks On  Assessment, Monitoring Of Strategic Places

As a follow-up to the operational order for the Christmas and New Year festivities released by the command and the subsequent deployment of 2409 personnel of the Command to various strategic locations, the State Commandant of NSCDC, Anambra State Command  Comdt.

Maku Olatunde A, on Wednesday the 25th  of December, 2024 visited some flash points to assess the security situation and the readiness of personnel to deal with undesirable elements who may want to disrupt the celebrations.

Speaking on the essence of the on-the-spot assessment and confidence-building patrol, Maku said the mood of the celebrations deserves to be calm, peaceful and hitch-free.

He commended the display of professionalism by officers and men seen at their various beats,  urging them to remain alert to prevent any unpleasant situation.

He reiterated that the command has rolled out all its human and operational assets to curtail criminal activities before, during and after the festive period.

 

“The Command has maintained relentless operations, leveraging actionable intelligence and deploying effectively to strategic locations to combat any violent crimes, including vandalism, kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry, cultism, and other criminal activities.

 

“We remain on high alert, steadfast in our commitment to foil the plans of criminals,  while intensifying statewide operations to emerge victorious in the fight against crimes and criminality, which we are determined not to lose,” said Maku.

 

The NSCDC State helmsman warned vandals, disgruntled elements, miscreants, hoodlums, and non-state actors intending to cause any form of violence or disturbance of public peace to have a rethink or desist as NSCDC in synergy with other security agencies is fully prepared and battle-ready to maintain the relative peace in the state.

Maku appealed for collective effort among Anambra residents and security agencies to fish out perpetrators of heinous crimes in society cautioning the public not to shield anyone they reasonably suspect engaging in crime for the benefit of all and sundry.

 

The visit which is going till the festive period is over took the State Commandant to Solution Innovation Center, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Awka, Church of Pentecost Agu Awka, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Unizik Temp Site Awka,  Aroma Junction Awka,  Government House Junction Amawbia, Aroma Bridge,ederal Secretariat road, Unizik Junction, Kwata Junction, Amawbia bye pass, ABS Junction, Kenneth Dike Library,  Ekwueme Square road, Ziks Avenue, Prisons Road, Ziks Avenue, and Eke Market Awka among others.

 

Comdt. Maku used the visit to felicitate with President Bola  Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Minister of Interior; Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi mni, OFR, the Executive Governor of Anambra State, P rof. Chukwuma Soludo CFR and  Christians in the State and across the world as they celebrate this year’s Christmas.

 

The State Commandant was accompanied by the Assistant Commandant of Corps, Operations, Chinweze Chinenye  Assistant Commandant of Corps;  Ulasi Okwuchukwu, VIP Protection Unit,  Assistant Commandant of Corps Intelligence and Investigation, Ewogu Chinedum, SC Ugochukwu Nwafor, Unit Commander, SC Ikenna Nwokedi, O/C Beat, SC Ngozi Okoye, Female Strike Force, among others.
