FENRAD Sends FoI Request To Abia Govt, To Know Locations Of 200 Primary Healthcare Facilities

The Foundation for Environmental Rights Advocacy and Development (FENRAD) has sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), demanding to know the locations of 200 Primary Healthcare Facilities under “Project Ekwueme.”

The FoI, which was signed by the Executive Director of FENRAD, Comrade Nelson Nnanna Nwafor, reads: “   In accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2011, we, the Foundation for Environmental Rights Advocacy and Development (FENRAD), respectfully request the disclosure of detailed information regarding the specific locations of the 200 primary healthcare facilities earmarked for rehabilitation, remodelling, and retrofitting under the Abia State Government’s “Project Ekwueme.”

“As an organization dedicated to promoting transparency, public accountability, and effective governance, this request is intended to facilitate independent monitoring and tracking of the project’s implementation. This will ensure that the initiative meets its objective of enhancing healthcare delivery across the 184 wards in the state.

“We specifically request the following information:The comprehensive list of the 200 primary healthcare facilities, including their names and precise geographic locations (addresses and coordinates, if available). The detailed project implementation timeline for each facility.

“The designated contractors and their respective scope of work for each location. Any established monitoring and evaluation frameworks for tracking project progress and ensuring quality delivery.

“We kindly urge that this information be provided within the timeframe stipulated under the FOI Act and in a digital format if possible to facilitate ease of analysis and public engagement.

“We appreciate your Excellency’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure in the state and look forward to your cooperation in providing the requested information. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further clarification regarding this request.”
