Police Inspector Arrested After Allegedly Slapping His Father to Death

An inspector of police has been arrested after allegedly slapping his biological father to death in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
According to reports from the Izzi Divisional Police Headquarters, Inspector Sunday Nwankoagu, attached to the Effium Crisis Area but currently on casual leave, was involved in a domestic dispute with his father, Mr Obaji Innocent, aged 75.

During the altercation, the inspector allegedly slapped his father, causing him to collapse.
The victim was immediately rushed to Iboko General Hospital, where he was later confirmed dead by medical personnel.

His body has been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for preservation.

Inspector Nwankoagu has since been arrested and detained at the Izzi Division. Authorities have confirmed that the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.

Police officials stated that updates on the case will be communicated as developments unfold.
