Delta State Police Command Records Major Breakthroughs in Church Robbery Cases

The Delta State Police Command has announced significant strides in combating crime across the state, particularly in response to a spate of church burglaries that have plagued areas such as Asaba metropolis and Sapele.
During a press briefing held at the Command Headquarters in Asaba, Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda S. Olufemi PSC, detailed the achievements recorded by the command from September 2025 to date.

Addressing members of the press, CP Olufemi revealed that strategic deployments aimed at bolstering church security have begun to yield tangible results.

“In response to the troubling trend of armed robbers targeting churches and carting away musical equipment and other valuables, I ordered a tactical deployment of personnel to safeguard these places of worship,” the Commissioner stated. “These efforts have already led to the arrest of several suspects and the recovery of church equipment valued in the millions of naira.”

The Commissioner emphasized that the command remains committed to proactive policing and community engagement to ensure the safety of lives and property across Delta State. He also hinted at further updates to be shared regarding other notable achievements during the review period.
