US Congressman Issues Stark Warning to Nigerian Government Over Christian Killings

-

A member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Rep. Riley M. Moore, has publicly issued a strong warning to the Government of Nigeria and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding the ongoing violence and killings targeting Christians in the country.

In a statement posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) eight hours ago, Rep. Moore asserted that the era of the United States ignoring the escalating crisis is over, explicitly referencing President Donald Trump.

“President Trump has provided a forewarning if you do not correct the current state of inaction to stop the killing of our brothers and sisters in Christ in your country. The days of the US looking the other way are over – it will never happen on @POTUS’ watch,” Moore wrote.

The Congressman’s message is a direct call for the Nigerian government to take decisive action to protect its Christian population. He urged immediate cooperation to stem the tide of what he termed a “worsening atrocity.”

“I urge you to cooperate with us in preventing this atrocity that worsens every day. We want your people to live in peace – all of them, especially Christians,” he stated.

Rep. Moore concluded his warning with a forceful reiteration of the former President’s resolve.

“The President has been clear. I would not test his resolve. Many have tried and all have failed. We will not allow the gates of hell to prevail against the faithful.”

The post, which tags the official account of Nigerian President Tinubu, signals a potential shift in U.S. foreign policy toward Nigeria, indicating that the level of violence against Christians in the West African nation could soon become a major point of diplomatic and political contention.
