Oyo Police Arrests Three Men Over Alleged Homosexual Acts

-

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three men over allegations of engaging in homosexual acts following an intelligence-led operation by operatives of its Monitoring Unit, Saki Operational Base.

The suspects were identified as Ayomide Lukeman, 22; Shuaib Aremu, 22; and Abdul-Rasheed Mufeed, 23.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, disclosed this in a statement issued on October 16, 2026.

According to the statement, the command received intelligence on September 29, 2026, concerning the alleged involvement of a group of individuals in what it described as unnatural sexual conduct.

The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, reportedly directed the Command Monitoring Unit to verify the information and take appropriate action, leading to the arrest of the three suspects.

The police said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects had allegedly admitted to engaging in homosexual acts.

The statement further alleged that two of the suspects confessed to having had sexual relations with the third suspect on multiple occasions, adding that they reportedly regarded him as their “wife.”

However, the command said investigations were ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the allegations and determine whether other individuals were connected to the case.

Reaffirming its commitment to professional and impartial investigations, the police said all necessary procedures would be followed to establish the facts and determine appropriate action in accordance with the law.

The command also urged members of the public to provide timely and credible information to assist in preventing, detecting and investigating crimes.

Residents were advised to report emergencies through the Oyo State Call Response Centre’s toll-free line, 615, or the police command’s control room numbers, 08081768614 and 07055495413.
