Army Chief Concludes Strategic Three-Day Operational Tour of Niger State

-

In a major move to bolster security in the North Central region, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has concluded an extensive three-day operational visit to Niger State.

The visit was focused on boosting troop morale and providing fresh strategic direction to address the evolving security challenges facing the state.

Throughout the tour, the Army Chief conducted a comprehensive review of the security landscape, visiting frontline locations to assess the readiness of personnel. General Shaibu engaged in high-level discussions with traditional rulers and key stakeholders, offering a firm reassurance to residents that the Nigerian Army remains unwavering in its commitment to restoring lasting peace and stability to their communities.

Addressing the troops, General Shaibu emphasised a multi-faceted approach to modern warfare. He emphasised the need for enhanced troop deployment and the integration of modern technology to give the military a decisive advantage over criminal elements.

He further stressed that military action alone is not the sole solution, calling for a stronger collaboration with traditional institutions and local stakeholders to create a unified front against insecurity.

The COAS noted that by combining superior technology with the deep-rooted influence of community leaders, the ongoing security operations in Niger State would be significantly strengthened. The visit is expected to result in a tactical shift in how the Army handles threats within the region, aiming to restore public confidence and secure the lives and livelihoods of the citizenry.
