Delta Police: Wife’s Attack Leaves Husband Dead, Others Survive

-

Fresh facts have emerged in the widely reported domestic violence case in Ughelli, Delta State, involving a housewife accused of attacking her husband, a woman alleged to be his companion, and a neighbour who reportedly attempted to mediate during a dispute.

The Delta State Police Command has clarified that, contrary to initial reports circulating on social media, only the woman’s husband died from the attack, while the other two victims survived and are currently receiving medical attention.

Speaking on the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, Superintendent of Police Bright Edafe, said the suspect attacked all three individuals during the altercation, but the fatalities were overstated in early reports.

“Although the woman attacked the three people, only her husband died. The other two victims survived,” Edafe said.

The suspect was arrested in Ughelli shortly after the incident and is currently in police custody as investigations continue. Police authorities say the case is being thoroughly investigated to establish the circumstances that led to the violence and to ensure that justice is served.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage and intense debate across social media platforms, with many Nigerians expressing concern over rising cases of domestic violence and the spread of unverified information during breaking news situations.

The Delta State Police Command urged the public to rely on official sources for accurate information and assured residents that further updates would be provided as investigations progress.
