The Elegant Nurses Forum has announced that young nurses across Nigeria will stage a protest on June 1, 2026, simultaneously in Lagos and Abuja.
In Lagos, the protest will take place at the NMCN Zonal Office, Yaba, within the premises of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital.
Organisers say the demonstration is aimed at demanding fairness, dignity, and improved working conditions for nurses in the country. Members of the press and the general public have been invited to join the movement in solidarity.
Speaking on behalf of the organisers, Nurse Abdul-Azeez Olalekan, South West Zonal Coordinator of the Elegant Nurses Forum and Lagos protest organiser, emphasised the importance of the action.
“This protest is about ensuring that nurses in Nigeria are treated with respect and given the conditions they deserve to serve the nation effectively,” Olalekan stated.
