Delta Police, NPF Trust Fund Empower 100 Wives of Junior Officers with Vocational Skills, Starter Kits

-

The Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund (NPFTF), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, has concluded a four-day vocational skills acquisition and empowerment programme for 100 wives of junior police officers in Delta State, equipping participants with practical skills and starter kits to promote self-reliance.

The programme focused on tailoring and hairdressing, with 79 beneficiaries trained in tailoring and 21 in hairdressing. At the end of the training, each participant received a starter kit in her chosen trade to support the establishment of small businesses and encourage sustainable income generation.

Representing the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, at the closing ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, commended the participants for their dedication throughout the programme.

He urged them to make productive use of the skills acquired, continue improving their craft, and build successful businesses capable of supporting their families. Adejobi also encouraged the women to continue supporting and praying for their husbands as they carry out the demanding task of safeguarding lives and property across the country.

Speaking at the event, the Team Lead of the Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund, Mr Charles Omorogiuwa, described the initiative as part of the Trust Fund’s commitment to improving the welfare of police families through sustainable empowerment programmes.

He said the training was implemented under the leadership of the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund, Mr Mohammed Sheidu, and urged beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity by establishing themselves in their chosen vocations.

Also speaking, the President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Delta State Chapter, Mrs Rosemary Adejo, expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund for the initiative and encouraged the beneficiaries to remain committed to the skills they had acquired.

In his remarks, CP Oyeniyi commended the Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund for its continued investment in the welfare of police families through empowerment programmes.

According to the Commissioner, strengthening the economic capacity of police families complements the Nigeria Police Force’s welfare initiatives for personnel, while promoting stronger and more resilient homes for officers serving the nation. #Securitynewsalert.com
