Gas cylinders and their accessories can develop faults, so regular checks are essential. Test for leaks by applying soapy water to the hose and valve. If bubbles appear, it may indicate a gas leak and the supply should be shut off if it is safe to do so.
Always turn off the cooker knob and cylinder valve after cooking. Keep the cylinder in a well-ventilated area, preferably outdoors or in a properly ventilated space, away from heat and ignition sources. Ensure there is adequate ventilation whenever cooking with gas.
A safety-conscious individual uses a good-quality hose and regulator and replaces damaged or worn components promptly. During a suspected gas leak, remember STOP: Stop using flames and electrical switches, Turn off the cylinder if safe, Open doors and windows, and Park out- leave the house immediately.
Quote: Do not keep using a cylinder hose and cooker knob till it stops working
Just be good. Reflect. Stay alert.
