The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) generated N4.30 trillion in revenue between January and June 2026, representing 36.4 per cent of its N11.074 trillion annual revenue target.
The figure was disclosed at the 65th Regular Meeting of the Nigeria Customs Service Board, chaired by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele.
The Board attributed the improved revenue collection to the deployment of the B’Odogwu digital system, expanded audit activities, the use of geospatial technology, joint border patrols and increased engagement with members of the trading community.
It also approved the upgrade of the Customs Medical Corps to a sub-department and the implementation of the De-Minimis Regulation 2025.
The Board further reviewed the ongoing recruitment exercise by the Service.
The Nigeria Customs Service said the measures were aimed at improving operational efficiency, strengthening accountability and boosting revenue mobilisation.
The NCS had set an annual revenue target of N11.074 trillion for 2026, with the N4.30 trillion collected in the first six months accounting for more than one-third of the target.
