The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, on Tuesday reaffirmed the commitment of security agencies to ensuring peaceful and violence-free 2027 General Elections in the state.
Ojajuni, who is also Co-Chairman of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) in Ogun State, gave the assurance while speaking at an election stakeholders’ forum held at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in the state.
In his address, the police chief stressed the need for sustained collaboration among security agencies, electoral stakeholders and traditional institutions to guarantee a smooth electoral process.
He assured participants that the ICCES would maintain regular engagements and proactive security measures before, during and after the elections.
The Commissioner also urged stakeholders to mobilise residents, including indigenes and visitors, to participate peacefully in the electoral process.
“Ogun State will not tolerate electoral violence,” Ojajuni warned, calling on all stakeholders to make a collective commitment to a safe and successful election.
The details were contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Command, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, in Abeokuta.
