FRSC, friends celebrate promotion of exceptional officer

Mr. Nnamdi Ikehakabogu of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Corps Commander.

 

Ikeh-Akabogu, who was decorated alongside other of his promoted colleagues at the FRSC Sector command, Minna, Niger, was the former Pankshin Unit Commander as Deputy Corps Commander (DCC).

Hundreds of his friends took to his Facebook account to congratulate him.

Ikehakabogu was born in Lagos, at the end of the Nigeria Civil War to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Chigbogu Ikeh-Akabogu, of Umudiaba Village, in Awka Local Government Area in Anambra State.

He started his education at Ekimogun Nursery and Primary School, Lagos State, African Churches School 11, Ebute Metta  Lagos, and Igwebuike Grammar School Awka.

He proceeded to the only sultanate university in Africa, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, where he bagged BA in History, MA in History, and Masters in Public Administration.

The senior Officer also obtained a Master’s Degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, before proceeding to National Teachers Institute Kaduna, where he graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education.

He has held various positions in his 24 years of enlistment in the Corps.

In fact, he was a Personal Assistant to ZCO as a corps member, secretary to ZCO, Zonal Public Education Officer, Sector PE Officer, Unit PE officer, Unit AHR, Sector AHR, Unit Head DLC, Sector Head DLC, and Unit Commander RS 4.12 Pankshin Unit Command.

He also served two Corps Marshals as Protocol Officer at FRSC Headquarters. He has attended many courses, including the Senior Officers Course at Command and Staff College Jaji, Administrative Officers Course at the Presidency, and Command and Strategy Course, at National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru near Jos.

Commander Ikeh-Akabogu also attended Senior Officers Course on Weapon Handling at Mounting School, Sberi Hills, Jos, among others

He is a two-time recipient of Corps Marsh’s Commendation Award, Four times Best Performing Unit Commander of the Corps Award. Overall Best Unit Commander in Zone RS4 award and ZCO best Unit Commander Award

The Senior Officer is an avid writer and has over 20 publications to his credit. He has also presented over 15 papers both locally and internationally.

He is a member of the Historical Society of Nigeria, Nigeria Institute of Historical Research. Road Safety Ambassadors, etc.

Commander Ikeh-Akabogu attended many seminars and conferences both locally and internationally bordering on Road Safety and Security matters. He is presently a researcher on the Spread of Islam in Igbo Land with Afikpo Ebonyi State as a case study. Until his promotion, he is the Assistant Corps Commander in charge of Planning Research and Statistics, Niger Sector Command of Federal Road Safety Corps. He is happily married with brilliant children.
