According to a Situation Report (SIT REP) sighted by Julianafrancisnews.com, the incident happened on June 28, 2022, at about 10:17 PM.

Following the murder of the ASP, the State’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Friday Eboka, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.

It states: “Josiah attached to Afam Police Division was ambushed as he was about driving into his lady friend’s house at Obeama Community by Assemblies of God Church by five masked men who opened fire on him. The scene was immediately visited by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and his lifeless body was met in his Lexus 300 SUV. And 24 empty shells of AK47 ammunition were recovered. His Tokarov Pistol breech No. 49116315 with four rounds of 9mm ammunition was stolen along with his phones. His lady friend, Chidinma Amadikwa, 42, who was also in the car with her two children, sustained no injuries but lost her phones, three Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards, and a bag containing her sales for the day to the hoodlums.
