Again, Gunmen Launch Attack On Police Station, Kill ASP, Inspector

Another set of policemen were today 25th of March, 2024, mowed down in Anambra State, firming up the theory that personnel of the Nigeria Police Force are being targeted.

According to police sources, the attack was launched at about 2:am, leading to the killing of an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) with APNO. 148128, identified as Adama Ahmed and Inspector Kalu Nathaniel with APNO 320377.

Our reporter heard that the two men were station guards at the division, but it is yet to be confirmed.

This latest attack comes less than 48 hours after the Nigeria Police Force through the Force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement, mourned its personnel killed in Imo and Delta states, including releasing names of those killed and those still missing in action in Delta State.

According to reports, the gunmen came in a Highlander, Hilux Pickup and Toyota Corolla vehicles and attacked Awgbu Police Station in Anambra State.

The gunmen were further alleged to have opened fire without provocation, killing the policemen.

The gunmen, not satisfied with the killing, proceeded to burn vehicles parked at the station. They were also alleged to have burnt police guns and weapons.

“The following arms, three AK 47 rifles, with breach N0 AE.346070, PD11547, 27484, two K2 Rifle with No 07023432, 07020532,  three Riot Gunner with No 39123365, 39123763, 013057, with 69 rounds of AK47 ammunition and 59 rounds of K2 ammunition and 40 cartridges of canisters, one Ford Ranger Patrol Van were burnt.

“Also burnt are two private vehicles. The corpses of the two policemen killed have been taken to St Joseph General Hospital Mortuary.”
