Nigeria’s Major Online Security Tracking Platform-Security Situation Room has presented some chairs to the Edo State Police Command to ensure suspects do not sit on the bare floor when being showcased to the Media.
At a brief session at the Office of the PRO of the Edo State Police Command-SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the Convener of the Security Situation Room, Douglas Ogbankwa Esq, indicated that the donation was to support the Matra of Edo State Police Commissioner-CP Funsho Adegboye which is Democratic Policing with the fear of God.
Douglas Ogbankwa Esq and the Edo State Police PRO both agreed that suspects have rights and should be properly treated even during investigations.
In an Interview after the donation, the Convener of the Security Situation Room, Douglas Ogbankwa Esq, stated that; A suspect is still a citizen and as such should be treated properly.
This is part of our advocacy in ensuring that the human rights of alleged suspects are protected. We are calling on our friends in the Police to please do Well to allow suspects to be fully dressed whenever they are being brought out of the cell or showcased to the media. “
