Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju has confirmed that social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), will honour the invitation extended to him by the Nigeria Police Force over allegations he made against Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Moshood Jimoh, says SaharaReporters.
According to SaharaReporters, in a statement issued by the activist’s legal team, the lawyers said VDM welcomed the police investigation and remained willing to cooperate fully. They, however, called for a transparent process, urging the police to allow representatives of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), civil society organisations and VDM’s lawyers to observe and participate in the interview.
The legal team stressed that the requests were intended to ensure fairness and public confidence in the investigation, not to undermine the statutory powers of the Nigeria Police Force.
The development follows a police statement confirming that VDM had been invited to substantiate his allegations against AIG Jimoh, while also disclosing that the senior officer has been invited for questioning as part of an internal administrative review. #Securitynewsalert.com
