Anambra Police arrests woman for flogging 3 yrs old to death

The Anambra State Police Command said it has arrested a woman identified as Chinelo Udogu, who allegedly flogged three years old girl to death and dumped her body in a bush at Amikwo, Awka area of the state.

The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), a Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ikenga Tochukwu, while confirming the arrest of the suspect, said the remains of the child had been recovered.

It was also gathered that the deceased was not the biological daughter of the Udogu.

His words: “On the incident about a woman, Chinelo Udogu, who allegedly flogged three years old child to death and dumped her body in a bush at Amikwo, Awka, she has been arrested and the victim’s body recovered. The lesson for us to learn is that we should be cautious when angry and desist from going physical when correcting children. Meanwhile, the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) for further investigations.”
