The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested 30 years old man, Danjuma Adamu, for sexually violating an eight years old girl and then stuffing N200 notes into her hand to keep her quiet.
The perpetrator was said to have sighted the child while she was hawking bean cakes and then lured her into the house of one Umaru Dauda, where he violated.
After perpetrating the act, he gave the child N200 and also paid Dauda N200 for allowing him to use his room to commit the crime.
The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Magaji Kontagora, while speaking about the incident, said that it happened on 16th September 2022 at about 1: PM.
He further explained: “One Danjuma Adamu a.ka Tanko, 30, took an eight years old girl, who was selling beans cake, into the house of Umaru Dauda and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her and gave her N200. Later, the suspect also gave the said Umaru Dauda N200 for using his room to perpetrate his evil intention. The case is still under investigation and will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is completed.”
Kontagora also said that some suspected armed robbers, who were armed with machetes blocked Umara Dikko Road with the intention to rob commuters. But they were arrested.
The CP explained that on the 1st September 2022 at about 10:am, Aliyu Musa and Bello Umar, armed with cutlasses conspired and barricaded Umara Dikko road to rob commuters. “On receiving the information, Policemen swiftly mobilised and arrested one of the suspects at the scene. The investigation led to the other fleeing suspect’s arrest on the city’s outskirts. The suspects will soon be charged in court,” said Kontagora.
