Man hacks friend to death over suspicion of being wizard

Mr. Isaac has been arrested for allegedly hacking his friend, Bahago Kofa, to death over suspicion that the deceased was a wizard.

The suspect was arrested on 23rd September 2022 at about 1:30 am.

The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Magaji Kontagora, while confirming the incident, said that Isaac attacked Kofa with an axe by repeatedly hacking at him, “for suspecting him of having been a wizard. As a result, the victim died while receiving treatment. The suspect has confessed to the crime and investigation into the case is ongoing.”

Also on the 19th of September 2022 at about 8:30 PM, one Tukur Yalli, reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Suru that, a warehouse filled with farming stocks belonging to the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) have been broken into by thieves and that they made away with water pumping machines, sprayers, fertilizers and herbicides worth over N11,000,000 in the course of the investigation.

The CP said: “One Faruku Bello was arrested for assisting the thieves in transporting the stolen items. When interrogated, he mentioned one Sani Umar, Umar Musa, Alh Nura Abdullahi and Mustapha Abubakar, who were all subsequently arrested and confessed to the commission of the crime. The investigation further revealed that the Alhaji Nura Abdullahi received all the stolen items and so far, nine water pumping machines and 45 cartons of herbicide chemicals have been recovered.”
